        The 43 units at the Sugar Plantation Condos were turned into condos in 2005. The entire Warehouse was gutted and condos built within the historic walls. When construction is done this way it is much like new construction. The open floor plans, exposed brick, garage parking, larger units and a great location make this an upscale condo association.

     The condo fees are moderate considering all the amenities and common areas that one can enjoy. There is a nice courtyard and pool area within the complex. There is an gym, meeting room and party room off the courtyard. Each unit has a rather large storage closet on the first floor. The garage parking is a big plus. Enter from Commerce Street. Two Elevators to the upper floors are easily accessible from the garage.

    A few of the units have balconies, Many of the units have their own private courtyard or terrace deck. The exposed beams, exposed brick walls, high ceilings give you that warehouse district feel. The open floor plan with open kitchens and large living areas make the units feel larger than most. Polished cement floors are the normal flooring for the living areas.

   There are one, two and three bedroom units at the Sugar Plantation. A few have a bonus room that can be used as an office or guest bedroom. They do not have closets so technically cannot be called a bedroom.  

    All these features make this building an A+ in my book. One thing that some units lack is city or street views but all the other items make up for that.

     Location is great as you are in the middle of the New Orleans Warehouse District. You are close to all the destinations and its easy to get to the interstate form here. A very walkable neighborhood.
